Typical Process

The typical physician compensation consultation includes a six step approach,

1. Assessment – What’s happening now? How are you paying physicians? How do your physicians perceive the current compensation program? What’s missing from the compensation program?

 2. Development – What compensation program would better serve your organization?

3. Measurement – How will we know when we have found the best plan? What financial measurements should you use?

 4. Testing – Does the proposed program match your goals? What’s the financial impact of the new program.

 5. Documentation – Production of documentation of the new physician compensation program.

 6. Market/Education – How will explain the new program to the physicians? What educational steps need to be taken to make sure the physicians understand the impact of the new program?
